Biography:
Attorney Stephanie J. Young was born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida. Ms. Young earned her B.A. degree in Behavioral Science, magna cum laude, from the University of South Florida. Undergraduate honors included Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Theta Kappa. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Young was a Special Agent Supervisor with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Responsible for racketeering and organized crime investigations, Ms. Young was assigned to the Tampa and Orlando Operations Centers. She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
In 1991, Ms. Young graduated with honors from the Florida State University College of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court Board during which time she won a regional American Bar Association competition. She also earned the “book award” in Civil RICO Seminar.
After receiving her law degree, Ms. Young practiced general civil and business litigation for ten years with the Carlton Fields Law Firm in Tampa. During that time, Ms. Young was a member of the American Inns of Court, American Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Florida and Hillsborough County Associations for Women Lawyers, BayArea Legal Services, the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, and she served on the Florida Bar Evidence Committee. Among others, Ms. Young has published in the Florida State University Law Review.
Prior to joining Sheppard & Sheppard, P.A., Ms. Young served as Corporate Counsel for Ring Power Corporation. Admitted to practice before the Federal District Court, Middle District of Florida and the United States Supreme Court, Ms. Young’s practice areas are general civil litigation and appeals.
